Maxine Lois (Donnell) Lane passed away peacefully at Cove’s Edge on the evening of Sept. 12.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1944 to Walter H. and Ruey Hallowell Donnell. She grew up in Nobleboro and attended Nobleboro Central School and graduated from Waldoboro High.
She married the love of her life, Lawrence (Lonnie) Lane Sr. on March 7, 1964. They moved to Nobleboro where they raised their two children. She worked at VAST in South Bristol and then went on to work for 25 years at the Darling Marine Center in Walpole. She retired from there in 2002.
Maxine enjoyed spending time with her family, going out dancing, traveling, dining out, watching NASCAR and doing word searches. She was known for two things: the ability to smile through any situation and bring joy to others, and always wanting to know what others were having for dinner.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Lonnie; parents, Walter and Ruey Donnell; sisters, Marie, Thelma and Edna; and brother, Chester.
She is survived by her son, Larry Lane and wife Myra of Nobleboro; daughter, Lisa Lane of Auburn; grandchildren, Aric Howard and girlfriend Christine Carpenter of Auburn, Kasey and husband Billy Rowe of Nobleboro, Zachary Lane of St. George, and Hillary Lane of Nobleboro; great-granddaughters, Aubree Howard and Skylar Rowe; brother, Roger Donnell of Carmel; sister, Lois Vannah of Nobleboro; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life for Maxine and Lonnie to be announced at a later date.
