Melinda “Minnie” Guptill, 29, of Waldoboro, died unexpectedly Oct. 11 at her home.
Minnie was born April 14, 1984 in Rockport to Charles and Vicky Simmons Guptill. She grew up in Mid-Coast Maine and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro.
She worked as a fisherman for many years. She also made pizzas at Maritime Farms for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her nephews, Tyler Barrows, Brandon Wellman, Colby Wellman and niece, Aleia Wellman. She also enjoyed cookouts and parties with her friends and family. She enjoyed drawing and painting.
She was predeceased by grandmothers, Phyllis Simmons and Dorothy Guptill.
She is survived by parents, Vicky and Charles Guptill of Waldoboro; brother, James Guptill of Waldoboro; sister, Angela Guptill and husband Larry Wellman of Waldoboro; half-sister, Veronica Fauche of So. Windham; grandfathers, Arthur Simmons of Waldoboro, and Leander Guptill of Spruce Head; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Minnie’s life will be held 11 a.m., Fri., Oct. 18 at the Word of Life Church, 41 Old Route One in Waldoboro. A reception will follow the service at the church. Pastor Tom Rawley will officiate.
