Melody Ann Feltis, 52, of Waldoboro, succumbed to her battle with cancer on Sept. 29 at her home. She was born Nov. 29, 1965 in Manchester, N.H. to Stillman Curtis Lawrence III and Mary Louise Delisle Lawrence.
She was raised and brought to Maine in 1974 and attended Rockland High School.
Melody worked at GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro and also delivered newspapers for the Courier Gazette.
She loved her dogs and her movie collection. She was a loving mother, “Mom” a supportive, passionate person, devoted, always willing to help out, and she always opened her home to others. She was a straight forward woman as well as intuitive and a “survivor.”
Melody is predeceased by mother, Mary Louise Delisle; sisters, Wendy Lawrence, and Stephanie Farnsworth; brother, Gregory Farnsworth; and very dear friend, Aunt Barbara Peters.
She is survived by her soulmate, Roger Feltis of Waldoboro; son, Travis Staples Sr. and wife Samantha of Southaven, Miss., and William Staples III of Mississippi; daughter, Stephanie Hildings of Iowa; sister, Rhonda Albert of Gardiner; grandchildren, Tiana, Travis Jr., Evelyn, and Violet; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Richie O’Keefe; and mother-in-law, Alice Feltis.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., Fri., Oct. 5 with services being held immediately following the visiting hour at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., in Waldoboro, Pastor Tom Rawley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Melody’s name to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, 217 Landing Rd., Westbrook, ME 07092.
