Michael A. Thibodeau, 68, of Wiscasset, passed away May 7 of natural causes. He was the son of the late Louis and Lorraine Thibodeau of Winslow.
Mike was born Dec. 9, 1949 and graduated from Winslow High School in 1969 where he played football and competed in track and field. After high school he attended Unity College and later University of Southern Maine. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard as a medic.
Michael was a kind and generous man who spent his career helping people. He worked as a Patient Family Counselor in the Special Care Unit at Maine Medical Center and later as a social worker. In his free time Mike enjoyed telling jokes, even if they weren’t funny, hunting and fishing with family and lifelong friends. He enjoyed spending time with his four sons, attending their sporting events and “yard saleing”.
Mike is survived by sons, Benjamin Thibodeau and wife Katrina, William Thibodeau and wife Sarae and grandchildren, Emmet, Orson and Maeve; Isaac Thibodeau and fiancee Michaela Dicks; and Samuel Thibodeau; siblings, Joseph Thibodeau and wife Diane, Robert Thibodeau and wife Lyn, Daniel Thibodeau, Jean Mathieu and husband James, and Kathleen Sylvain and husband James; 12 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will remember and honor Mike’s life at 11 a.m., Sat., May 26 at Church Hill Baptist Church, 258 Church Hill Rd., Augusta.
