Millie Coosard, 87, of East Boothbay, died Dec. 9 at Amenity Manor in Topsham.
She was born in Augusta, the daughter of George and Cora Harvey.
Millie spent most of her working career as a cook in the Boothbay Region, both for the Headstart program and public school system.
Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, crocheting and spending many hours playing cribbage. Some of her favorite places included Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, the mountains of New Hampshire, and Siesta Key, Fla. For many years she and Jere would enjoy sunsets at Ocean Point.
She was predeceased by her parents; four siblings; and former husband, Arthur Abraham Gilley, all of Augusta.
Survivors include her husband Jere; daughters, Pat and husband Paul Fry of Pennsylvania, Kathy Getchell of Littleton, Col., Marie Gilley and husband Ed Lydecker of Sarasota, Fla., Lorna Gilley and husband Gene Stover of Florida and Pennsylvania, and Lynn Gilley Orne of Southport and special friend Michael Martin; favorite nephew, Michael Coosard of Wheeler, Mich.; grandchildren, Richard and Scott Minoty and families, Shannon Khroh and family, Mike, Darlene and Donna Getchell and families, Joel Lydecker, Christian Lydecker and family, and Benjamin Morse and family; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Celebration of her life Dec. 14 with a touching tribute including, favorite scriptures, prayers and music led by family members. Officiating clergy was Alan Barker, M.D. Interment will be held at a later date.
