Myrtle C. Ell, 77, of Westport Island, died Dec. 31 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born in Malden, Mass. on July 18, 1932, a daughter of Peter and Catherine (Robichaud) Steele.
She attended Malden schools and Malden High School. On April 15, 1950 she married John G. Ell and moved to Westport Island in 1989. She was employed at Maine Country Store in Wiscasset.
She is survived by her husband John G. Ell of Westport Island; son, Steven E. Ell Jr. and longtime companion Debbie Richards of Westport Island; sister, Marion Foley of Massachusetts; and grandsons, Brian Ell of New Gloucester and Steven Ell of Westbrook.
There will be no services. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset in the spring.
