Myrtle May Decker Bryant, 77, of Nobleboro, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 10 at Cove’s Edge Nursing Facility in Damariscotta. Born in New York City on June 26, 1931, she was the daughter of Anna and Kurtz Decker.
Myrtle spent summers in Maine and moved to Nobleboro full-time in the early 1950s. On Aug. 6, 1955 Myrtle married William Smithwick Bryant, Jr. They were married for over 53 years.
Myrtle loved the outdoors, and enjoyed watching the changing seasons over the Great Salt Bay. She was a full-time mother, and will be well remembered for her wonderful cooking. Her smile was infectious as was her sense of humor.
Survivors include her sons, William P. and wife Rebecca, and James W. and wife Lori; grandchildren, Lindsay Bryant and Nicholas Bryant, all of Nobleboro, and Jessica Bryant and fiancé Dan Bourne of Alna.
Myrtle will be laid to rest with her husband at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Newcastle at a date to be announced
