Nancy Elaine Hilton, 61, of Boothbay, died on June 17 at her home. Nancy was born in Roseville, Cal. on March 14, 1953 to Floyd and Carolyn (Willey) Hilton.
Nancy moved east to Maine in the early 80s. She worked for Northeast Security for many years, then made a career change and attended school to become certified in Reiki, as well as a Master in Reflexology. Nancy was ‘an old soul’ and enjoyed studying the science of herbology and learned the art of reading tea leaves. That led her to opening MacNab’s Tea Room in Boothbay, which she had for over 20 years and loved as a second home.
Nancy was interested with anything related to wool, so it was a natural progression that she became a fabulous knitter. She had gatherings every Thursday at the Tea Room for some 30 knitters as they ‘needled’ away, enjoying her company and delicious teas.
She was an excellent baker and her specialty was strawberry shortcake, which she made every year for her daughter Annielyn’s birthday.
Nancy was known for being a very generous, loving and kind spirit. She always gave of herself first, taking care of many people, and became the best friend anyone could ask for.
Nancy was predeceased by brother, John Hilton.
Nancy is survived by partner, Michael Adams MacKusick of Boothbay; daughter, Annielyn MacKusick of Boothbay; son, Drew Bibber of Boothbay; and many cousins, and many loving extended family members.
Please join family and friends for a celebration of life service at 1 p.m., Sat., Aug. 16 to be held at her special place, MacNab’s Tea Room, 5 Lu Yu Lane, off Back River Road in Boothbay.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 27 Atlantic Highway, PO Box 7, Edgecomb, ME 04556.
You are invited to share your condolences, photos, and memories with the Nancy’s family by visiting their Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
Arrangements are entrusted to Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay.
