Nancy H. Lewis, 69, of Boothbay Harbor, died July 5 at the St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor after a long illness.
Mrs. Lewis was born Nov. 25, 1940 in Boothbay Harbor, the daughter of Harold R. and Eleanor E. Dunton Hardwick, a graduate of Boothbay Region High School, class of 1959.
For 20 years, she helped welcome visitors to our area at the Boothbay Region Chamber of Commerce visitor’s center.
She loved to travel, take long walks, for the past 12 years has wintered in Florida, and most recently was looking forward to her high school’s 50th reunion, to take place in two weeks.
She is predeceased by her son, Durwood Randall “Randy” Lewis, who died in 2003.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Durwood Lewis of Boothbay; daughter, Debbie Peters and husband Bob of Boothbay; and three grandsons, Christopher, serving in the U.S. Navy in New London, Conn., and Adam and Brian, both of Boothbay.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Thurs., July 9 at the Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay, where a celebration of Nancy’s life will be 11 a.m., Fri., July 10. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Boothbay.
