Nancy J. Moore, 72, of Jefferson, passed away at Grey Birch Nursing Home in Augusta after a brief illness. Nancy was born on July 22, 1946 to George Vannah and Elizabeth Fitch Vannah. Nancy attended Waldoboro schools and graduated from Waldoboro High School in 1964. In March 1966, she married the love of her life, Doward Moore.
Nancy was a licensed beautician, and in 1985 she became a licensed insurance agent. She went to work for her brother, Ernest Vannah, at Vannah Insurance Agency in Waldoboro, and later at Tilton Insurance Agency in Jefferson in 1998 until her retirement in August 2011.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, husband, and nephew, Thomas Orff.
She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Catherine) Moore and Michael (Beth) Moore, both of Jefferson; granddaughters, Megan Moore and her fiance Mason Faucher of Augusta, Jordan Moore and her boyfriend Jared Mank of Warren, and beloved granddog, Emma Louise; sisters, Louise (Nelson) Brown of Jefferson, and Bonnie (Burton) Orff of Washington; brother, Ernest (Colleen) Vannah of Waldoboro; many nieces, and nephews; and her Shang-ri La sisters.
