Nancy Kerr, 91, peacefully went to be with the Lord on the morning of May 1 while surrounded by the loving people who cared for her at Round Pond Green. Nancy was born Jan. 19, 1926 in Providence, R.I. to Frederick and Jessie Read Worrell.
She worked as an office helper in her father’s business, F.T. Worrell, Inc. after attending a few years at Boston University. She married Paul B. Chesebro of Warwick, R.I. and became a stay at home mom for many years caring for her family, gardening, and sewing, all of which she enjoyed enormously.
Nancy sold beauty products as a beauty counselor. She moved on to selling real estate, and for two consecutive years she received awards for over $1 million in sales a year. After real estate, she entered the field of hospice work and care giving until she retired.
She was a very energetic person who was an excellent tennis player, dancer, and an avid bird watcher. She was very involved with the Audubon Society. She loved classical music. She also loved cats and adopted many throughout her life, and was always looking out for the smallest of creatures. She will be missed by her family, church family, and friends at Round Pond Green.
Nancy is survived by daughter, June Dancing Tree; son, Mark Chesebro and wife Lori; grandchildren, Nathan, Rebecca, Amy, Amber, Erica, Michael, Christopher, and Wendy; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held 2 p.m., Tues., May 16 at the Lincoln County Assembly of God Church, 672 Main St., Damariscotta. Pastor Tom Wagers will officiate. A reception will follow the service at the church.
