Nicole Lee Peaslee, 28, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family and friends by her side. Born on Jan. 8, 1984 in Damariscotta, she passed away on the morning of Nov. 1 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Nicole grew up in Nobleboro, attended local schools and graduated from Lighthouse Academy. Upon graduation, she would go on to work for Nobleboro Fire and EMS, as well as the Damariscotta Police Department. More recently, she worked at King’s Korner Day Care in Damariscotta. She was also active in the Maine Special Olympics.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Martin and Lillian Wall, and Thelma and Harold Barton; as well as an uncle, Edward Wall.
She is survived by her caring and loving husband, Steven Peaslee; sons, Steven II, Dakota, Nicholas and Jacoby; daughters, Shelley and Abigail; mother and step-father, Carol and Elijah Curtis; father and step-mother, Christopher and Beth Barton; brother, James Libby; sister, Brittany Barton; mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Donald Peaslee; brother-in-law, Scott Peaslee and wife Paula; sister-in-law, Tammy Winkley and husband Wayne; several aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service for Nicole 11 a.m., Thurs., Nov. 8 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta with Rev. David O’Donnell officiating. A reception will follow at the Wells-Hussey American Legion Post in Damariscotta.
