Norma L. D’Andrea Smith, 79, of Waldoboro, died Sept. 5 at the Knox Center in Rockland. She was born Sept. 9, 1932 in Englewood, N.J. to Harry and Rosilla Lyons D’Andrea. She grew up Gorham and attended local schools.
She married Clayton G. Smith Jr. on Aug. 2, 1950. They followed Clayton’s career in the Army and lived in Maine, Germany, Georgia, and Hawaii and eventually back to Rockland in 1968. They moved to Waldoboro in 1969. Norma was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed shopping, music, animals and going out to eat.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton G. Smith Jr. who died in 2000.
She is survived by sons, Clayton G. Smith III and wife Robin of Waldoboro and William J. Smith of Portland; daughter, Kathleen Simmons and husband Brian of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Cristy Smith and partner Greg Winchenbach of Waldoboro, Erika Stone and husband Ryan of Warren, Megan Monfiletto and husband Anthony of Wiscasset, Chelsea Ponsant and partner Austin Parsons of Benton, and Kaitlyn May of Poland; and great-grandchildren, Kylea Stone of Warren, Joshua Stone of Warren, Bria Ponsant of Benton, Nathan Winchenbach of Waldoboro, and A.J. Monfiletto of Wiscasset.
A private family service will be held at the Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro. Burial will be in the Brookland Cemetery in Waldoboro.
