Norman Perley “Norm” Benner Jr., 34, of Friendship, died unexpectedly July 23 in Waldoboro. Norm was born Feb. 23, 1978 in Rockport to Norman P. Benner Sr. and Dawn Faulkingham Benner. He grew up and lived all of his life in Friendship. He graduated from Medomak Valley High School in the class of 1996.
He loved working as a sternman for his captain, Josh Gahagan. He also was a clamdigger. He enjoyed camping in Jonesport when he was young. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and swimming. He loved spending time with his family especially his niece and nephew at family barbecues, holidays and birthdays. He was very close to his sister, Kimberly.
He was predeceased by a son, Haydin Donald Benner; grandfathers, Norman C. Benner and Donald Faulkingham; and grandmother, Dorothy Church.
He is survived by his parents, Norman P. Benner Sr. and Dawn Faulkingham Benner of Friendship; sister, Kimberly Simmons and husband Harlan of Friendship; grandmother, Janet Faulkingham of Friendship; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Thurs., July 26 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Funeral 2 p.m., Fri., July 27 at the Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Dorr officiating. A private committal will be held at the Brookland Cemetery in Waldoboro.
