Ona Mary Delano, of Whitefield, passed away April 10 at MGMC-Augusta Campus.
Ona was born in Gardiner on July 16, 1925, a daughter of Dominick and Gertrude (Lane) Palosky. She attended Whitefield School, Kings Mills School, and Cony High. She married Osborn Delano Sr. on May 6, 1941.
She was employed with Kennebec Manufacture and Kerschner. She was also a constable, a town warden, and worked in animal control, all for the Town of Whitefield.
Ona Delano lived in Whitefield where she enjoyed farming, making butter, and working on her dairy farm. Ona loved flowers and gardening. She also loved her dogs, cattle, and horses.
Ona enjoyed and loved her family. She was there for them, helping them through many challenging times. She was a person who loved to help others and did so in so many ways. She was well liked and loved by all her family and will be missed greatly.
She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Chalmers David Palosky.
She is survived by her husband, Osborn Delano, Sr.; children, Osborn Delano Jr. and companion Linda Gallant, Gloria Jane Russell and husband David, all of Whitefield, David Delano and wife Edna of Belfast, and Luke Delano of Whitefield; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours 5-7 p.m., Fri., April 13 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home-Gray Chapel, 207 Windsor Neck Rd., Windsor, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Sat., April 14.
