Otis Shelborn Goodwin, 68, of Winchester, Va., went home to be with His Lord on July 19 at his home with his family by his side.
A faithful husband, father, friend and servant, Otis dedicated his life to his family and to serving the Lord through world missions.
He was a man of integrity and vision who faithfully gave of himself and sought to make the world a better place and to bring the people of the world to a personal relationship with his friend, Jesus Christ.
After graduating from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. in 1982, Otis began a 25-year ministry to the restricted access countries of Southeast Asia. He was the founder and general director of Outreach to Asia Nationals and Bridging The World mission organizations, until his death. His legacy will live on for generations to come.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Franklin Goodwin of Jefferson; mother, Iva Mae Cullins Goodwin of Jefferson; and sister, Marion Goodwin Carroll of Jefferson.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Roxann Jewett Goodwin of Winchester, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Randall Bailey of Whitefield, Julie and Glen Bailey of Jefferson, and Jana and Pastor Gary Moritz of Centreville, Va.; and grandchildren, Joshua Bailey, Randall Bailey, Michael Bailey and wife Rebekah, Corey Bailey, Andrew Bailey, Kristina Bailey, Jessica Bailey, Jaden Moritz and Josalyn Moritz.
Memorial service 1 p.m., Mon., July 23 at Capital Baptist Church in Annandale, Va.
Funeral 11 a.m., Wed., July 25 at Calvary Bible Baptist Church in Whitefield.
Internment will be at the Whitefield Cemetery in Whitefield.
