Paige Warren Saunders, 48, of Damariscotta, West Palm Beach, Fla. and Greenwich, Conn., passed away on Sept. 15 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City after a long valiant seven year struggle. She had defeated breast cancer several months ago but died from complications following surgery.
Paige was born in Portland on Nov. 1, 1959, the daughter of the late Janette Cole Saunders Stesto and the late Rex Saunders. She is the granddaughter of the late Josephine Warren Cole Doelger and the late Henry Leighton Cole. Her grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Adams Warren of Cumberland Mills.
Paige attended the Waynflete School in Portland and Miss Hall’s School in Pittsfield, Mass. She was a talented artist of murals and decorative painting. She also enjoyed yachting from Maine to Florida for many years.
She is survived by her fiancé Charles A. Flye; two brothers, Regineld Archer Saunders and John Warren Saunders; and aunt, Caroline Cole Seymour.
Memorial service 11 a.m., Sat., Oct. 18 at St. Andrew’s Church in Newcastle.
