Patricia Ellen Giles Adams, 81, lifelong resident of Boothbay Harbor, died July 11.
Born Dec. 13, 1929 at the family home in Boothbay Harbor. She was the daughter of Benjamin M. and Nettie Rowe Giles, she grew up and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in 1947.
Pat worked at Rice Brothers Manufacturing Company on the east side of the Harbor and Rice Brothers Shipyard in the drafting room when they built the lightships Columbia and Overfalls. She coached girls J.V. basketball, was a member of the town band for many years, a former Sunday school teacher at the Boothbay Harbor Methodist Church and a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.
She was predeceased by brothers, Lermond, Robert, Drummond, Harold and Benjamin; and sisters, Leta Connors, Iva Koerber, Lavinia Connors, Natalie (Peggy) Hathorne and Cleo Audrey Chase.
Survivors include her husband, Robert B. Adams Sr.; daughter, Betty Jeanne Adams Maddocks and husband Sewall Jr.; son, Robert Benjamin Adams Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer M. Adams and husband AJ Nelson, Lynnette E. Adams and companion James Mayotte, Sewall T. Maddocks III, Benjamin A. Maddocks and Jason E. Maddocks; great-grandchildren, Natalie R. Mayotte and Cameron J. Mayotte, all of Boothbay Harbor; and sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Giles Richardson of West Bath.
Services 2 p.m., Sun., July 17 at the Boothbay Harbor Methodist Church. A gathering will follow at the Sprucewold Lodge in Boothbay Harbor.
