Patricia Lucille (Delano) Chapman, 72, of Waldoboro, passed away Sept. 29 after a brief illness at Maine Medical Center in Portland with her family by her side. She was born April 23, 1940 to Cyrus and Grace Delano.
Pat was a well-known resident of Waldoboro, serving as the Town Clerk from 1976 to 1987. She worked many years as a waitress at Moody’s Diner and Deb’s Diner in Waldoboro. Pat was also known for her strong opinionated personality and she always told it like it was whether you wanted to hear it or not.
Pat married Harold W. Chapman on May 19, 1961 and they were married for 51 years. Pat was a caring wife, mother, daughter and grandmother.
Pat was predeceased by her father, Cyrus Delano; grandmothers, Annie Delano and Elva Benner; son, Richard Chapman; grandson, Craig Winchenbach Jr.; and brother, Howard Delano.
Pat is survived by her mother, Grace Delano of Friendship; husband, Harold Chapman of Waldoboro; brothers, Cedric Delano and Kendall Delano of Friendship; sister, Marlene Powell of Friendship; daughters, Cindy Chapman of Damariscotta, Tammi Winchenbach and husband Craig of Waldoboro, Terry Chapman and husband Mark Courtenay of Nobleboro, and Tanya Robinson and husband Gregory of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Christie McBrayer, Tiffany Winchenbach, Amber Williamson, Nicole Lash, Abbie Hartford, Dyani Smith, Kayla Boggs, Rhiannon Hartford, Daniel Winchenbach, Morgan Zimmerman, Colby Robinson, Melanie Zimmerman, and Cameron Robinson; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Fri., Oct. 5 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Funeral 2 p.m., Sat., Oct. 6 also at the funeral home. Rev. Thomas Rawley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Brookland Cemetery in Waldoboro.
