Patricia A. “Pat” (Ward) Hunt, 69, of Waldoboro, died on Feb. 14 in the Sussman House after brief illness. She was the loving wife of Otto Hunt with whom she shared 35 years of marriage.
Born on June 3, 1947 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ola (Carter) Ward. Pat worked in Damariscotta as an assistant manager for Romeo’s Pizza until her retirement and also as a manager at Maritime Farms. Earlier in life she was employed as a pipefitter for Bath Iron Works and at Penobscot Poultry assisting in the daily functions of the business.
She volunteered for the last five years mowing the Union Fairgrounds and preparing meals for the other volunteers at the Maine Blueberry Festival. She also spent time knitting mittens for the Mittens for Kids Drive and helping at the AKC Dog Show. In her spare time she loved quilting, sewing, knitting, crafts and cooking. Pat was an accomplished heavy machine operator.
In addition to her husband she is survived by sons, Terry Ward and wife Lisa of Lacey, Wash., and John “Eddie” Ward and wife Toni of Appleton; step-sons, Dennis Hunt and wife Jennifer of Readfield, Dwayne Hunt and companion Alice Bishop of Warren, and David Hunt and wife Melissa of White River Junction, Vt.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Ward and wife Linda of Belfast, and Allen Ward and wife Brenda of Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 23 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend. A funeral service for Pat will be held at 12 p.m., Fri., Feb. 24 at the Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro.
