Patrick R. Willis Sr., 66, of Somerville, died Sept. 27 at his home following a long illness. He was born in Rockland on Sept. 23, 1948, a son of the late Walter I. Willis, whom he loved and cared for very much.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Willis was a self-employed carpenter for many years before becoming disabled due to his war service.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Willis was predeceased by his wife, Donna May (Burgess) Willis; sister, June Lavassuer and the people who raised him and helped him through some of his most difficult times, Hannah and “Unk” Rancourt.
He is survived by sons, Patrick Willis Jr. and wife Lisa of Vassalboro, Michael Willis and husband Jeremy of Augusta, and Lance Willis of Somerville; daughters, SammiJo MacFarland of Windsor, Jamie Bolduc and companion Peter Tarbox of Winthrop, and Crystal Collins and husband Harold of Gardiner; brother, Mike Willis and Diana “Mo” of Washington; sisters, Shannon “Stink” Wakefield and wife Kimberley Merrifield of Windsor, and Sheila “Sam” Hall of Jefferson; grandchildren, Nakomi “Buckwheat,” Gage, Natalie, Milo, Morgan, Taite, Kymberly, Andrew, and Paige; great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may visit from 1-4 p.m., Wed. Oct. 1 at Patrick’s home, 789 Colby Rd., Somerville. No funeral services will be held.
