Paul Edward Fredette, 67, passed away on the evening of April 23, 2019 at the Sussman House in Rockport, with his loving wife by his side. Born on July 20, 1951 in Waterville, he was a son of the late Edward Fredette and Ruth Veilleux.
Paul was a funeral director for over 30 years in Waterville, retiring to Pemaquid to spend his final years enjoying his favorite activities of boating, fishing, hunting, cooking and entertaining.
Paul is survived by his wife, Shari I. Fredette of Pemaquid Harbor; son, Jeremy Fredette and fiancee Sarah Lane of Bethel; daughter, Jessica McQuillan and her husband Bob of Oakland; brother, John Fredette of Winslow; step-daughter, Katrina Loef and her husband Christian of Portland; much-loved grandchildren, Gabrielle Loef, Matthew Jolicoeur, Anthony Jolicoeur, and Oliver Fredette; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
Paul’s family is grateful for the services of the Sussman House in Rockport for their compassionate care during Paul’s final weeks of life. Donations in Paul’s name may be made to the Sussman House, 40 Anchor Dr., Rockport, ME 04856.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Wednesday, May 1 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 2 at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle. He will be laid to rest in the Harrington Cemetery in Pemaquid.
