Paul Hubert, 58, of Jefferson, a beloved brother, father, uncle and friend of many, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 14. Paul was born in Acushnet, Mass. on Dec. 11, 1951, a son of Albert and Helen (Chace) Hubert.
Paul attended the Jefferson Village School and graduated from Lincoln Academy (Class of 1971). He was an excellent athlete and excelled in baseball. Paul was employed as a mental health worker for the state of Maine, then with Yankee Wholesale, and finally as an electrician at Bath Iron Works for 31 years.
Paul was the family’s strong right hand and was always ready to help out with any project. Paul’s infectious laugh and wit came easily. Paul had many interests, including Civil War history, fishing, and hunting. He loved the outdoors and he had many adventures with friends and family, particularly in Rangeley.
Paul was predeceased by his parents; stepfather, Henry Cunningham; and brother, Raymond Williams.
He is survived by son, Aaron Curtin of Damariscotta; sisters, Helen Cotter of New Bedford, Mass., Joan Bavoux of Somerset, Mass., Gail Gamage of South Bristol and Diane Tefft of Sutton, Mass.; and brothers, Edward Entwistle of Fall Rivers, Mass. and Donald Williams of Jefferson and their families including 19 nieces and nephews.

Service 11 a.m., Thurs., May 20 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. Memorial celebration of Paul’s life will be held in the future.
