Philip Carlton Hall, 77, of Waldoboro, died Jan. 23, surrounded by his family, at his home. His daughters cared for him for many months until he passed away. He was born June 26, 1934 in Deer Isle to Cecil and Florence Carmen Hall. He attended local schools on Deer Isle.
As a young man he worked in construction in Portland. He was a hard worker and worked at many jobs including clamming, woodcutting, and as a sternman. He also worked at R.K. Barter Sardine Canning Company in Stonington.
He loved old country western music, watching western movies and going for rides in the country. Philip had a great sense of humor, was kind-hearted and would help anyone that needed help.
He was predeceased by son, Robert Hall, and granddaughter, Julia Hamilton.
He is survived by his companion, Geneva Gross of Waldoboro; daughters, Barbara Hamilton and husband Earl of Vinalhaven, Babette Haskell LeClair and husband Harold of Orrington, Susan Hall and companion Gordon Webster of Waldoboro, and Theresa Hall and companion Mike LaRouche of Union; step-son, Ben MacDonald of Isle Au Haut; grandchildren, Kathleen Hamilton of Vinalhaven, Bobby Hall of Waldoboro, Danielle and Zachary LeClair of Orrington, Josh Doughty of Vinalhaven, and Desiree Hall of Union; and dear friends, Kenneth and Jane Holbrook of Searsmont.
