Philip Sherman Douglass, 81, passed away March 13 at Cove’s Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta.
The son of John William and Anna Laurie (Harper) Douglass, he was born in South Harpswell, Feb. 28, 1926.
For over 20 years, Philip was active with the Mobius community in Damariscotta. These were some of the most rewarding times of his life. He loved his work at the Carpenter’s Boat Shop in Pemaquid and had a lifelong love for bowling.
During his last years, Philip was very happy with the care and love he received at Cove’s Edge. He will also be missed by his dear friend and mentor of many years, Cathy Cooper.
Service to honor Philip 11 a.m., Mon., March 19 at the chapel of Strong Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta, with Martin Fallon officiating.
He will be laid to rest in the springtime with his mother at the West Harpswell Cemetery.
