Phillip Kerry Walsh, of Falmouth, died peacefully at Falmouth by the Sea on Nov. 26.
Kerry was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Jan. 23, 1931, the son of the late Beatrice Harshaw and John Walsh.
Kerry graduated from Proctor Academy in 1950 and Middlebury College in 1954. After college, Kerry was drafted into the U.S. Army in August 1955 and served in Fort Knox, Ky. and Frankfurt, Germany.
P.K., as he was also affectionately called, owned and operated the family business for many years – The House of Walsh in Williamstown, Mass., which was founded in 1902 by his uncles Phillip and Tom Walsh.
Kerry was predeceased by his former wife Nancy Jack Walsh.
Kerry leaves behind his children, Kevin Alexander Walsh of Ossining, N.Y., Liza Cassandra Walsh Cady (Casey) of Davis, Cal., Graham Jack Walsh of Newcastle and Courtney Greer Walsh of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sister, Judith Ann Walsh of Davis, Cal.; and grandchildren, Hannah Cady, J. Cedar Cady, Alexander Walsh, Morgan Walsh, Micah Levine and Matan Levine.
He was known for his love of people, his fog-cutting deep voice, and his hallmark handshake which remained firm all his life.
There are no calling hours, a memorial service will be held in the spring of 2011.
