Phyllis (Bryant) Charette, 83, of Beverly, Mass., wife of Arthur J. Charette, died May 22 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Mass.
Born in South Bristol, daughter of the late Ernest and Clara (Wiley) Bryant, she was raised and educated in South Bristol and was a 1942 graduate of Lincoln Academy.
During WWII, she was employed with the United States Government in Portland. Phyllis settled in Beverly, Mass. in 1945 with the love of her life and together they enjoyed 63 years of marriage.
Phyllis was employed with Beverly Hospital for many years. She worked in administration as the admitting supervisor for the hospital. She retired in the mid 1980s. Her favorite pastimes were playing cards and dancing, and she had a great sense of humor.
She was predeceased by brother Robert O’Brien and brother-in-law Neil Sprague.
Surviving her, in addition to her husband Arthur, are three children, Gene Charette and wife Miae of Beverly, Mass., William Charette and wife Kimberly of Wenham, Mass., and Pam Eckmann and husband Scott of Beverly, Mass.; sister, Janice Sprague of Damariscotta; two sisters-in-law, Sharon O’Brien of Waldoboro and Cecile DiMambro of Beverly, Mass.; six grandchildren, Suzy, Janna, Cameron and Samantha Charette, Sam and Kara Eckmann; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 11 a.m., Wed., May 28 at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, Mass. Visiting hour prior to the service, 10-11 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly, Mass.
