Phyllis G. Foster, 70, passed away Jan. 15 at Parkview Hospital, surrounded by her loving daughters.
She was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Port Jefferson, N.Y., a daughter of Mildred Eugley Wanat Pender and adoptive daughter of the late Harold and Arlene Eugley McFarland.
At the age of nine, Phyllis moved to Maine, attended local schools, and graduated with her G.E.D. from Lincoln Academy in Newcastle.
She worked as a C.N.A. and cook at Miles Memorial Hospital and The Lincoln Home. She was most recently employed by Renys at their warehouse in Newcastle.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 34 years, and the Ladies Auxiliary Veteran’s Foreign Wars.
Phyllis enjoyed cooking, sewing, dancing, and collecting Elvis memorabilia.
She will be sadly missed by those who knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, Donald T. Foster, and infant daughter, Gloria Foster.
Survivors include her daughters, Rinda Foster of New Harbor, Laura Foster Waltz and husband Frank of Jefferson, Lyndell Foster Brackett of Newcastle, and Bertha Foster Voisine and husband Ricky of Enfield, Conn.; sisters, Estelle Stover of Waldoboro, Patricia Benner of New Harbor, Georgene Westaway of Massachusetts, and Linda Sicotte of Pemaquid; brothers, Ralph Eugley, Jr., and Milton Eugley of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Chassedy Foster of New Harbor, Frank Waltz III of Jefferson, Nancy Waltz of Augusta, Donald Waltz of Jefferson, Nichole Brackett of Newcastle, Kurt Brackett of Newcastle, Kimberly Voisine of Enfield, Conn., and Kristina Voisine of Enfield, Conn.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Fri., Jan. 19 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
Celebration of Phyllis’s life 11 a.m., Sat., Jan. 20 at Hall Funeral Home with Rev. David O’Donnell officiating.
A gathering will follow the committal service at Frank and Laura Waltz’s home.
