Phyllis Hall Collamore, of Round Pond, passed away Dec. 1 at Cove’s Edge Long Term Facility in Damariscotta after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Damariscotta, Feb. 16, 1930.
She was the daughter of Phillip Hall and Eva Gamage Hall. Phyllis attended local schools.
She married James Collamore in 1948, and for a short while they lived on Louds Island. Phyllis resided most of her adult life in the Granite Hall neighborhood of Round Pond.
She worked for many summer residents. Phyllis enjoyed attending parades and touring in Jamie’s Model A Ford, camping, gardening and staying on top of local news. Her kitchen door was always open to friends’ visits.
She was predeceased by her husband, James, on May 16, 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sawyer and husband Brian of New Harbor; granddaughter, Melissa Sawyer Bowler and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Gwendolyn of Canterbury, N.H.; and siblings, Verna Ames of Rockland, June Martin of Vinalhaven, James Thompson of Owls Head, and Howard (Uncle Punk) Gamage and wife Marge of New Harbor.
A memorial service will be held in the spring.
