On April 7, Phyllis Silver Moulton of Damariscotta went to be with the Lord after a long illness.
She was born in Gorham on Feb. 13, 1927, daughter of Charles and Annie Grant Silver.
Phyllis was an active member of the Nobleboro Baptist Church for most of her life. She was also active in the October Club, and in her later years, the Nobleboro Grange.
Phyllis was a talented singer, songwriter, and musician. On many Sundays she could be heard either singing with the church choir or accompanying herself on the guitar. In her younger days, she and her husband, Earl, and sometimes the children, would often jam at the Lake Pemaquid Campground during the summer. Even when hospitalized, she could be heard playing her guitar and singing to the other patients in the hospital. Some of the fondest family memories are of family and friend get-togethers singing and playing.
Phyllis loved animals, often taking in strays and nursing them back to health.
She was a talented artist, twice turning down a career in art to raise her family. She loved to crochet, despite the pain from arthritis. She would crochet carnations for all of her nurses during hospitalizations, and most recently, was making afghans in preparation for the births of a great grandson, and her first great-great-grandson.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Earl Louis Moulton; grandson, Mark Michaud; daughter, Rita Moulton Fleury Sidelinger; and son, Francis Carroll Moulton.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Michaud of Gray, Wanda Moulton of Damariscotta, Cindy Goughnour of Dryden, Teresa Seavey of Gorham, and Annie Bocash of Interlachen, Fla; grandchildren, Anthony Michaud of South Portland, Michael Michaud of Biddeford, Ronald Moulton of Appleton, Arlene Alford of Brewer, Lori Roscoe of Rockland, Matthew Fleury of Phillips, Joseph Black of Dryden, Tammie Black of Avon, Melanie Lavender of Seattle, Wash., Dale Seavey of Gorham, and Brian, Aaron and Nicholas Bocash of Interlachen, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Katherine, Jacob, Trevor, and Cameryn Michaud, Scott, Nicole, Shyanne, and Jessie Moulton, Evany Black, and Cayden Hinckley.
Phyllis will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
