Priscilla D. Dostie, 82, of Augusta, died Nov. 10 at Maine Veterans Home after an extended illness. She was born in Augusta on Oct. 15, 1929, the daughter of Napoleon Dulac and Alice (Marois) Dulac.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a sales clerk and bookkeeper by Quality Shoe Store in Augusta for many years. She previously worked at Jupiters 5 & 10 store for several years.
Mrs. Dostie was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Augustine Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society and St. Agnes Circle Daughters of Isabella.
She did volunteer work Soire du bon temps at the church, volunteered at the Augusta General Hospital, was a volunteer swim coach at the YMCA for children with cerebral palsy, and she put on shows at the Augusta Mental Health Institute.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Dostie, who died on April 29, 2006; her parents; two brothers, George Dulac and Lawrence E. Dulac; and a grandson, Thomas Dostie, in 2004.
Surviving are daughters, Susan Naegely and husband Thomas of Cushing, Kathleen A. Saucier and husband Lucien of Augusta, Lisa Cole and husband William C. of Sidney and Theresa Crosby and significant other Daron Carter of Castle Hill; son, Michael R. Dostie and wife Margaret of Somerville; sisters, Laurentine “Laurie” Nedik and husband Gus of Clearwater, Fla., Claire Cyr of Cape Coral, Fla., and Sister Carmen Dulac of Canada; special nephew, Norman Dulac of Augusta; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit 6-8 p.m., Fri., Nov. 11 at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m., Sat., Nov. 12 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Augusta. Committal prayers will be at 1 p.m., Tues., Nov. 15 in the chapel at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta.
