Prudence P. Cundy, 73, of Edgecomb, passed away early on the morning of May 22 at Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta, after a brief illness. The daughter of James McAlpin and Alice (McNeill) Pyle, she was born March 24, 1936, in New York City. She grew up in Charlottesville, Va. and summered on Monhegan Island as a young teenager where she met and married Donald D. Cundy and raised her three children.
She is survived by her son, Rick Cundy of Pemaquid; daughters, Kelani Cundy of Alna and Donna Cundy of Monhegan; sisters, Laurie Gray of Edgecomb and Pamela Getch of Virginia; grandchildren, Kaitlyn DeRepentigny of Richmond, Marissa and Donald Cundy, both of Pemaquid; daughters, Blair Russo of Huntington Beach, Cal., Guy Raymond of Baltimore, Md., and Sally Jenkins of Franklington, La.; and several more grandchildren.
All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MISCA (Monhegan Island Sustainable Community Association), Friends of Monhegan School or MCCM in Brunswick to honor Prudence’s memory.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Strong Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
