Ralph E. Dyer Sr., 92, of Jefferson, died April 22 at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Coopers Mills. Born on March 9, 1921 in Washington, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lillian A. (Grotton) Dyer.
He attended school in Washington, and served his country honorably during WWII in Europe with the U.S. Army. Mr. Dyer spent his life working in the woods. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise (Bragg) Dyer who died in 1964; daughter, Donna Bowie; brother, Fred Dyer; and sisters, Georgia Brown and Edna Belanger.
Mr. Dyer is survived by his daughter, Brenda Henry of Lewiston; son, Ralph E. Dyer Jr. of Auburn; companion of more than 30 years, Barbara Cooper of Jefferson; and her children, John Cooper and Jean Bilodeau, both of Augusta; grandsons, Allen Bradstreet of Lewiston, and Travis Dyer of Naples; and granddaughter, Heather Moon of Connecticut.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of his family.
