Ralph Everett Robbins Sr., 80, of Manchester, Tenn. and Warren, passed away on Aug. 10 after a long illness. He was at home with his wife of 37 years, their daughter and family.
Born in Brockton, Mass., July 7, 1932, he was the son of Weldon and Helen Robbins. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, later he worked as a nurse in VA hospitals in Massachusetts and Togus. He lived in Jefferson and Warren for several years. He worked as a guard at the Maine State Prison and later as an electrician at Bath Iron Works.
He was predeceased by his parents; stepfather, George McPhee; brothers, William Robbins, Weldon Robbins Jr. and Roy Robbins.
He is survived by wife, Sharon Miller Robbins; daughter, Sandra Cardwell and family in Manchester, Tenn. where Ralph made his home; sons, Timothy Robbins and family of North Carolina, Ralph Robbins Jr., whereabouts unknown, and Raymond Robbins and family of Waldoboro; brothers, George Robbins Sr. of Warren and family, and Daniel McPhee and family of Washington; sister, Frances Field and family of Warren; sisters-in-law, Nellie, Velzora and Eleanor Robbins and their families; several nieces and nephews; and 14 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held during the summer of 2013, at his request, at a campground near Spencer Bay, one of his favorite places go to camping.
