Ralph L. Colby, 74, of Wiscasset, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 11 at his home. He was born Jan. 9, 1944, the son of Leroy and Lillian (Gagnon) Colby.
Ralph was a great carpenter and built many homes, including his own that his youngest son now lives in. He was a longtime worm digger before retiring and taking over his father Leroy’s clam hoe shop, repairing and making digging hoes for the majority of Wiscasset and surrounding area diggers. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping up at the Forks in northern Maine.
Ralph is predeceased by his father, Leroy.
He is survived by mother, Lillian; sisters, Deanna and Lori; brothers, Michael and Daniel; daughters, Jane and Julie; sons, Scott and Tony; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their extended families.
Ralph was well known, liked and respected by the town and he will be surely missed.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. No services are being held at this time.
