Randall Irving Gross, 56, of Waldoboro, passed away on March 1 at his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Randall was born on Jan. 18, 1954 in Damariscotta, a son of the late Percy and Alice Ellen (Hatch) Gross.
Randall lived in Waldoboro his entire life and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in 1972. He was formerly employed at the Medomak Canning Company, Crowe Rope and Hannaford. He was recently employed at Yellowfront Grocery in Damariscotta.
He was a member and held various offices in many local organizations, including Odd Fellows, Meenahga Grange and the Waldoborough Historical Society. Randall’s passion was working on genealogy, not only for himself, but assisting many others. He most recently published a book on the local cemeteries. Randall will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity to others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Carroll C. Dawson, Roger P. Gross, and Carlton H. Gross; and sister, Maxine B. Gross.
Randall is survived by brothers, Alton W. Simmons Jr. and wife Linda of Bremen, Kenneth Simmons of Coventry, Conn., Harold E. Dawson and wife Rebecca of Bremen, and Lawrence M. Gross of Waldoboro; and sisters, Rosemary Ashner of Waldoboro, Shirley A. Kelley of Rockland, and Juanita M. Gross of Waldoboro.
There will be no services.
