Raymond Curtis Lane, 60, of Pemaquid, passed away at his home on Aug. 29 following a three-year battle with colon cancer.
The son of Charles P. and Adelaide (Reeves) Lane, he was born in Damariscotta on Dec. 23, 1946.
Following his graduation from Bristol High School, class of 1965, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps, honorably serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.
An independent man, Raymond was self-employed as a lobsterman all his working life. He loved traveling to Las Vegas, N.V. and Foxwoods and especially enjoyed lobster picnics with his family.
He was predeceased by his mother; father; cousin, Lee; and nephew, Alec.
Raymond leaves his brothers, Erlyn “Buddy” Lane and wife Lois of New Harbor, and Dennis Lane of Pemaquid; sister Donna Walizer of Franklin, Penn.; four nephews; three nieces; one uncle; and two aunts.
Friends and family are invited to call 4-6 p.m., Tues., Sept. 4 at Strong Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
He will be laid to rest by his family at the Ocean Hill Cemetery in Chamberlain.
