Raymond J. Weeks, Sr., 75, of Whitefield, passed away on Nov. 17 at his home.
He was born on May 1, 1932 in Whitefield, the son of Theodore H. Weeks and Eunice (Grady) Weeks.
In past years, Ray donated to the Whitefield Athletic Association and the Whitefield PTA annual raffle.
Ray enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with his longtime friend, Mark Lewis. He loved being with his friends and family and his many grandchildren. Spending the day sitting at the table watching the water at his camp on Long Pond in Windsor was a good thing. He would watch the birds through the kitchen window at home while reading the newspaper. He helped his friends who were in need. He was a hard man, but a good one. Ray loved his wife, Pauline very much.
Ray started his company, Weeks Construction, when he was just 30 years old, and ran a slaughterhouse with his brother-in-law, Arthur Davis. Also, he was Road Commissioner, and sanded the roads of Whitefield in the winter off and on for over 20 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Eunice Weeks; brothers, Joe, Robert (Pete), Daryl (Eli) and Richard Weeks; sister, Sandra Weeks; step-daughter, Priscilla; son, Raymond J. Weeks, Jr.; and grandson, Shane Weeks.
Ray is survived by his wife of 24 years, Pauline B.
