Raymond P. Phinney Jr., of Boothbay Harbor, died on Nov. 4 at Maine General Hospital in Augusta.
He was born May 31, 1939, in Boothbay Harbor, the son of Raymond P. and Gladys Monroe Phinney. After graduating from high school in Everett, Mass., he joined the Coast Guard where he served 16 years.
After his discharge from the Coast Guard he worked for Chelsea Clock as a tool and die maker for many years. He also worked at Hy-Sel manufacturing in Revere, Mass., then at Industrial Wiper, where he was an Industrial Machine Repairmen.
He and his wife moved to Boothbay Harbor in 2005.
Ray was a member of Pakistine Lodge, AF & AM in Everett, Mass. and he loved to make model boats, cars and tinkering on them.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Phinney of Boothbay Harbor.
Graveside service was Nov. 7. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery.
