Rebecca Dawson, 66, of Bremen, passed away July 16 at her home with her husband by her side. She was born Feb. 6, 1948 to Roland Kelly and Agnes Willey. She grew up in Bremen and attended local schools. Rebecca quit school early on to take care of her family.
Rebecca married Harold Dawson on Dec. 31, 1963 which started their 50 plus years of marriage. She worked around the house and was the “best cook that ever was.” She enjoyed making chowders and beef stews. Rebecca was a top candle pin bowler at Depatsy’s. She traveled everywhere for the fun she had playing bowling and beano. Rebecca was a loving mother and wife; and loved spending time with the grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Brenda Gross; and brother, Jerry Kelly.
She is survived by her loving husband, Harold Dawson; son, Trent Dawson of Bremen; daughter, Stephanie Dawson of Rockland; grandson, Ryan Morse of Rockland; great-grandson, Brayden Callahan of Rockland; brothers, Eugene Kelly of Damariscotta, Phillip Kelly of Bremen, Maynard Willey of Bremen, and Danny Kelley of Damariscotta; and sisters, Sandra Ripley of New Harbor, and Shirley Lidden of Bremen.
