Rhonda Lee Chapman, 57, of Waldoboro, passed away after a long illness at LincolnHealth on March 19.
She was born in Damariscotta on Feb. 16, 1961, the daughter of Niven C. Chapman and Helen Winchenbach. She was a direct descendant of Anthony Chapman, the first settler of Damariscotta and builder of the Chapman-Hall House.
She attended Castner Grade School and graduated from Lincoln Academy, class of 1979. After graduation, she worked in the cafeteria at Miles Hospital with close friends Pam Mahan and Joan Gamage.
Her hobbies and pastimes included artwork, poetry, catalog shopping, crossword puzzles, collecting Stephen King books, and keeping journals.
She was predeceased by her father, who always called her “George;” and brother, Gregory Chapman.
She is survived by mother, Helen Chapman of Damariscotta; sisters, Eva Glidden of Somerville, Carol Simmons of Damariscotta, and Paulette Chapman of Boothbay; brothers, Bruce and Jon Chapman of Damariscotta, and Jeffrey E. Chapman of Nobleboro; three nieces; eight nephews; and very special friend, Beck Malone of Warren.
A celebration of life will be announced in The Lincoln County News at a later date.
Arrangements were entrusted to Direct Cremation of Maine in Belfast.
