Richard Charles Farrell, 68, of Damariscotta, passed away at his home on the afternoon of Feb. 4 with his family by his side. Born in Manchester, N.H. on Feb. 20, 1946, he was the son of Richard J. and Mildred (Gould) Farrell.
Richard grew up in Manchester, attending local schools and graduating from West High School in 1964. After school, he relocated to Port Richey, Fla., where he lived for 20 years. He was involved passionately as a draftsman in the structural steel industry throughout his entire career.
He retired to Damariscotta where he enjoyed reading, fishing, collecting, and continued his love of the Rolling Stones.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Kathy A. Mitchell Farrell; son, David P. Gagnon; and sister, Sandra Farrell Kinduris.
He is survived by sons, Scott M. Farrell, and Richard M. Farrell and wife Rebecca; daughter, Heather L. Farrell; grandchildren, Joshua Farrell, Jimmy Benner, Heather Benner, Nathaniel Farrell, Abigail Farrell, David Gagnon, Kaisha Gagnon, and Makala Farrell; sister, Susan Farrell Clement; daughter-in-law, April Gagnon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sun., Feb. 22 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
