Rinda E. Foster, 48, of New Harbor, died Aug. 24 at her home, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with kidney disease.
Rinda was born March 1, 1960 in Damariscotta, a daughter of the late Donald and Phyllis McFarland Foster.
She grew up in Newcastle, attended local schools and was a 1979 graduate of Lincoln Academy.
For many years, Rinda worked for Miles Memorial Hospital in housekeeping before moving on to Lincoln Home in Newcastle as a C.N.A. She later worked for Master’s Machine in Round Pond, Massey’s Seafood in South Bristol and at the Renys department stores in Damariscotta.
She was a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Damariscotta. She was a lover of all animals, her favorites being birds and horses. She enjoyed fishing.
She will be remembered by those who knew her as a quiet, generous woman who would always help others who needed a hand.
Survivors include her daughter, Chassedy Foster of New Harbor; sisters, Laura Waltz and husband Frank of Jefferson, Lyndell Brackett of Newcastle, and Bertha Voisine and husband Ricky of Enfield, Conn.; nephews, Frank Waltz, III and Donald Waltz of Jefferson, and Kurt Brackett of Newcastle; nieces, Nancy Waltz of Jefferson, Nichole Brackett of Newcastle, and Kimberly and Kristina Voisine of Enfield, Conn.; best friend, Frank Genthner, Jr. of Bristol, and her dog, Nonook.
Celebration of Rinda’s life 11 a.m., Wed., Sept. 3 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro with Pastor David O Donnell officiating.
