Rita (Friedman) Pepper, 86, passed away on the evening of April 23 at the Sussman House in Rockport. Born in New York on April 29, 1928, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Abrams) Friedman.
Rita attended the prestigious Parsons School of Design, and later had a long and successful career as a corporate travel consultant while living in Cherry Hill, N.J. Her work enabled her to travel the world, and she became an active volunteer with the Scottsdale Center for the Arts upon moving to Arizona.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Bruce Pepper in 2010.
She is survived by her daughters, Shari Sage of Damariscotta, and Elyse Herron of Virginia; sister, Alyce Assael and husband Henry of New York; sister, Barbara Beyer and husband Jack of Arizona; as well as two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thurs., April 30 at the Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Ariz.
