Robert Bernett, 52, of Jefferson, passed away on Dec. 9 at MaineGeneral Medical Center. He was born in Kansas City, Mo. on Sept. 14, 1961 to Robert Bernett and Patricia Neville.
Robert grew up in Salem, N.H. and Plaistow, N.H. He graduated from Timberlane Regional High School in New Hampshire in 1979. After high school, Robert studied automotive at Manchester School of Technology. He graduated and joined the work force, starting his career at Pica’s Garage, where he worked for many years. When he moved to Maine, he continued in this line of work as a heavy duty equipment mechanic for Willard Pierpont, a position he held for over 20 years until he had to step down due to his illness.
Robert enjoyed many things and was a hard worker. He liked to read, he enjoyed being outside and he was always working on cars. He was fascinated with trains and liked watching NASCAR. Robert also had a sense of humor and loved making people laugh.
Robert is survived by daughter, Danielle Mcgee of Derry, N.H.; sister, Constance Bernett and companion Gary Achorn Sr. of Washington; brother, Christopher Bernett of Jefferson; aunt, Mary Neville of Wehawkon, N.J.; niece, Alexandria McClintick of Jefferson; great-niece, Eliza; great-nephew, Bretley; and friends Willard Pierpont, David Hallowell, and John Bourdelais.
