Robert (Bob) Elliot Huson, of Damariscotta and Bremen, died at his home in Schooner Cove on Nov. 26. He was born June 7, 1926 in Wollaston, Mass. to the late Clarence and Ann (Elliot) Huson. His childhood years were spent in Wynnewood, Penn. and Boston, Mass. He graduated from The Noble & Greenough School and Amherst College, Class of 1950.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy on the Herbert C. Jones destroyer escort in the South Pacific during WWII. During his career, Bob worked in the building materials field in sales and marketing. He retired from Lumberman’s Merchandising Corporation of Wayne, Penn. in 1994. During his career, he lived in Penn Square, Penn., Newtown, Conn., Short Hills, N.J. and Paoli, Penn.
He loved his family and friends, his cottage on Biscay Pond, sailing, tennis, skiing with his children, and all dogs.
Bob Huson is survived by his wife of 60 years Elizabeth (Betty) Dalbeck Huson; children, Robert Jr. and wife Lynn of St. Louis, Mo., Richard and wife Lynn of New Bern, N.C. and Elizabeth Huson Finegan and husband Caleb of Indiana, Penn.; grandchildren, Mark Huson of Baltimore, Md., Kimberly Huson Zorch and husband Robert of Richmond, Va., Noah and Jack Finegan of Indiana, Penn., John Relic of St. Louis, Mo. and Matthew Fair of Providence, R.I.; brother-in-law, Richard Dalbeck and wife Shirley Dalbeck of Cape Elizabeth, and their children and grandchildren.
Celebration of Bob’s life 3 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 2 at St. Andrew’s Church in Newcastle.
