Robert E. Burns, 77, of Phillips, passed away June 25 at Victorian Villa, Canton.
Born to Evelyn and Sydney Burns June 3, 1933, Robert grew up in Alna and married Yvonne Goodwin Gilbert. He worked as a farmhand and carpenter/painter. Robert enjoyed playing harmonica, long rides, nature, four leaf clovers, the mountains and living the simple life. Settling in Phillips with Mary Tracy, who became his life partner.
He was predeceased by a brother, Sydney, Yvonne and Mary.
Survivors include children, Robert Burns of New York, Robin Lincoln of Newcastle, Roberta Benner of Waldoboro, Cindy Burns of Albion, Gwen Powers of Bath and Audrey Moore of Five Islands; special granddaughter, Virginia of Chesterville; brother, Lowell Burns of South Carolina; sister, Louise Mario of Harrington; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
