Robert L. “Bob” Morin, 69, passed away Jan. 18 with his loved ones by his side, after a battle with cancer. He fought hard and was always full of hope.
He grew up in Barrington, R.I., and moved to Midcoast Maine after serving in the Navy. Bob spent his career in construction as a building contractor. He was happy with tools in hand or just working at his farm, known as Barrel Mill Farm, in Waldoboro.
Bob was a kind and passionate man. He had a great way of connecting with animals and that was especially true when it came to his horses. Bob was a great listener and communicator with horses. He began his life-long association with horses as a teenager working at a stable with over 75 horses. Bob’s bond with Budd and Sonny was evident in the trust they had for him. His dogs and cats were always by his side. His dogs Fletcher, Stella, and Rufus will miss him. Cats Missy and Muffet, too.
Bob served on the Farm Bureau of Maine, promoting the welfare of the equine population.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Jane Stockwood Morin. Bob and Jane shared a love that gave them strength, courage and true happiness. Forever love.
Bob loved his daughters with all his heart. He was a proud Dad to Rebecca Emmons and Margaret Foster. He always smiled in their presence. His daughters always came first. He also leaves behind their husbands, Lee Emmons and Mike Foster; grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Foster and Natalie Emmons; stepchildren, Crissy Turner, Walter Turner, and Emily Eddy; Emily’s husband Raymond and their children Jacob, Caroline and Rebecca. His sister Susan Batchelor brought joy and was such a comfort to Bob. He also leaves behind two older brothers, Jon Morin and wife Sandy of South Paris, and Tom Morin and wife Cynthia of Berryville, Ark. Bob also leaves many nephews and nieces.
Bob had many close friends who will miss his fun spirit and good heartedness. He was loved by many.
Bob’s wishes were for a celebration of his life to be held outside in the spring.
