
Robert Standley Chapman, 72, of Waldoboro, passed away at Pen Bay Medical Center on June 9. He was born on Nov. 4, 1944 in Richmond, son of Robert R. Chapman Sr. and Josephine M. (Brackett) Chapman.
Robert attended local schools in Wiscasset. He left school at an early age and started worm digging to help support the family. He continued digging worms throughout his life until his health declined.
He loved to play the guitar and had a fondness for stray cats.
Robert is predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by son, Daniel S. Chapman and wife Denise of Freeport; brother, George Chapman of Waldoboro; sister, Mary Pratt of Alna; brother, Dean Chapman of Lisbon Falls; grandson, Luke Chapman of Freeport; and many nieces and nephews.
A mass will be held at 11 a.m., Mon., Oct. 2 at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle.
