Robert W. “Bob” Ladd, 60, of Warren, died March 17 in Bath after a 10-year courageous battle with Huntingtons disease. Bob was born May 6, 1950 in Camden, N.J. to Fred Ladd Jr. and Marjorie Lane Cochran. He attended Hope and Thomaston schools. After graduation he was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971.
He worked for many years at Marine Colloids, Crowe Rope and Camden Tanning as a mechanic. His passion in life was riding his Harley Davidson and his 1966 Chevy Nova. He enjoyed attending motorcycle events, socializing with friends and spending time with his family. He and his wife Sherry also organized many motorcycle events. He was a member of the United Bikers of Maine for many years.
He was predeceased by his father, Fred Ladd Jr. and by a stepson, Dan Harriman.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Barton Ladd of Warren; son, Mike Ladd of Bangor; stepsons, Jerry Johnson and wife Trish of Thomaston and Dennis Harriman of Warren; mother, Marjorie Cochran of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sister, Barbara Hall of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; step-daughter, Liane Knutson and husband Matt of Warren; mother-in-law, Mary Dearborn; and friend, Reino Greenrose of Camden.
Service to celebrate Bob’s life 6:30 p.m., Thurs., March 24 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Rev. Robin Honaker will officiate. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
